Intimate Cartography

A woman’s body yields intimate cartography
maps of silent autobiography
Signatures of pleasure and pain
spiral her thighs like invisible veins
She attempts to lift her life from shame
A woman’s body bestows sexual geography
Gestures of love written in sounds of untitled cacophony
Movements of fire and ice
surge like waves across her chest
as her body awaits this moment
to finally unveil itself for itself

I love how you dive beneath the maps and become not just the territory but the very earth–fecund, raw, infinitely generous.
Soul beauty, y'all!
Vanessa – it occured to me a couple days after the conversation with Ken around your work that men need an exploration around power something like your exploration around beauty…we have “myth of male power” by Warren Farrell, coming it at roughly green altitude because of the victim stance…we have “way of the superior man” (which i suppose I should read), but Deida doesn't have academic legs so much…anyway, something like “the gift of authentic power: an integral masculinity for the 21st century…
I Love it Durwin!! I so encourage you to write that paper…or that book(-:
I too agree that such a topic desperately needs to be explored, just as much as beauty for women (and men to a different degree). Actually, listening to Ken really sparked my own interest in the topic of male development as I feel I haven't really had a good grasp on the struggle there as far as power and competitiveness/agression/testosterone(-:
I would absolutely love to hear a males perspective on it all as I think it would greatly infuse my own work as well. Just be careful… once you take on the project, it may transform you in some profound ways(-: I can only speak from my own experience, I started wanting to write about beauty and beauty ended up writing me…
Much love to you.
Hey Durwin; i know it's one year now, and you already might have written your paper or book; but just in case you haven't; what do you think of this title - i wrote it as a blog:
42. A true measure of a man… How much of a 'She' he can be.
Vanessa : you are right… i actually wrote the above blog after i saw women as divine creatures….: struck by divinity : and i always used to bully them when i was young…. - Jesi Karni; vesi Bharni - (what you hate will be what you will be infactuated by)
40. A 'Nari' in a 'Sari' - nothing more divine
